Berkeley Electric Cooperative experienced its first hurricane-related outage on at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 7th. The hurricane left over 56,000 members without power and broke 137 poles system-wide.
Berkeley Electric brought in an additional 257 crew members from 12 sister cooperatives representing five states bringing its total number of storm personnel to over 400.
The last storm-related outage was restored at 5 am on Friday, Oct. 14th. During those seven days, cooperative personnel restored over 75,000 outages.
