Get advice before going solar

Step 1: Energy Efficiency

The key to getting the most out of any renewable energy investment is to first make sure your home is performing at its peak efficiency. Generating electricity from the sun doesn’t help if you are losing conditioned air through leaky windows and ducts or if your home is not properly insulated.

So before you start any solar project, let The Energy ExpertsTM at Berkeley Electric walk you through the best ways to prepare your home to harness the full potential of the sun. Be sure to ask about our Net Metering program and what tax credits may be available to start your solar installation.

Rate Restructuring

Beginning January 1st, Berkeley Electric Cooperative will be restructuring its residential and small commerical rates. The restructuring will focus on balancing the Service Availability Charge so that all members will equally cover the full cost of maintaining the cooperative's distribution system.
