Solar Power / Bidirectional Metering

My SC Solar Logo

Berkeley Electric Cooperative supports a balanced mix of resources for generating power that utilizes both traditional means of power generation as well as emerging renewable technologies such as Green Power and Solar Power. If you have questions about Solar Power for your home or business please contact The Energy ExpertsTM at Berkeley Electric or visit visit MySolarSC. For full details regarding Berkeley Electric Cooperative's Solar Power program please see the links below. Please note that a completed Interconnection Agreement will need to be submitted to participate in the program. Berkeley Electric recommends that members consult with us for a free evaluation of the projected value of their proposed solar PV system prior to installation. Over 700 Berkeley Electric members are participating in our Solar Program and have installed 50% more solar panels than can be found in the entire Colleton Solar Farm - which houses over 10,000 panels.

Effective June 2019, our Renewable Surplus Generation rider will allow residential and small commercial members to connect solar PV systems and be credited for all surplus energy generated by the member's system. Please note that this updated rider eliminates the previous $5 per kW AC charge. For full details on the surplus generation process and credited kilowatt-hour value please consult the "Step-by-Step Guide" linked below.
