For full details regarding Berkeley Electric Cooperative's Solar Power Program please see the links below. Please note that a completed Interconnection Agreement will need to be submitted to participate in the program.

Effective November 15, 2017, Berkeley Electric will charge $5 per kW AC for completed solar PV systems using the Net Metering Rider,

This change is due to the Net Metering program reaching the 3,000 kW allotment provided by Central Electric Power Cooperative that subsidized the program.

(Berkeley Electric members have now installed more solar panels than the entire Colleton Solar Farm consisting of 10,010 panels)

Please note that members have the option the option to interconnect with our established standards and choose NOT to be on Net Metering.  In this scenario, any surplus kWh would pass directly back to the Cooperative without being credited to the member's bill.  Follow the above interconnection process and notify us that you are choosing not to be on Net Metering.
